He explained to students what a student council is, their role in the school, and how they, as students, can get involved and make a positive impact on the student body. Students from various classes chose to let their names stand in the vote for various positions. The candidates for Student Council President went from class to class campaigning for votes from the students and staff. Then the students and staff voted for who they wanted to represent them for the remainder of the year.
